• Sunday Summertime Masses: 8:00 A.M. & 10:00 A.M.

St. Mary’s Food Kitchen

Sacred Heart's turn to prepare the food and serve it at St. Mary's Food Kitchen will be on Tuesday, July 8. On May 13, 400 people were served food. More food could have been served if it had been available.

• Remember to pick up a bag or pan after Mass next weekend (July 5/6).

Summer Parish Office Hours (May 23rd through August 22nd)

• Monday through Thursday:
  8 a.m. - Noon; 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
  
  
• Friday: 8 a.m. to Noon.

Sacred Heart children need YOU to volunteer in SOR (School of Religion)! (2008-2009)

If you are between 19 and 91; single, married or engaged; parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle or friend; experienced teacher or never wanted to teach, we need you! This year approximately 550 children and teens will seek to know God and their faith better through School of Religion utilizing over 100 volunteers.

Women’s Bible Study
Fall 2008

Catholic Scripture Study – Acts of the Apostles

This is a 30 week study which will begin September 17th and run weekly through the beginning of May with built in holiday breaks. The cost for the study is $50 which includes a study binder with course materials and a DVD lecture which is viewed at each weekly session. Participants can choose either the Wednesday morning session (9:20-11:00 a.m.) or the Thursday evening session (7:00-8:30 p.m.).

Children’s programs are available for the Wednesday study only; children 3 years of age by Sept. 1st will go to the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program and children 6 months to 3 years will go to the Nursery. There is an additional fee for children’s programs.

Please consider advertising in the bulletin since the revenue from the ads is what makes the bulletin possible at no cost to the parish. It’s also a great way to get your name in front of the families in the parish!

Advertisements can be purchased for a business or family. Also, a sponsor ad can be purchased supporting community service organizations like emergency pregnancy counseling or the battered women’s shelter, etc. Please give these ad ideas some thought. As part of the new high school SOR ongoing faith formation offered by Sacred Heart, this fall 9-12th graders of the parish are invited to break open the word of God in an exciting adventure: a journey through the bible. The popular Dickinson Summer Movie Program is back!

For $10 you get a pass with 8 entrances to second run G & PG movies at all KC area Dickinson Theaters. Sacred Heart earns $4 from every pass sold. To access the schedule and available movies, please go to http://www.shoj.org/scrip.htm

Tickets are available at the scrip table after every weekend Mass and at the school office during the week.
